And There He stood I could not believe my eyes...

    evermore

But he stood before me, as real as every moment of time ever passed. I wondered aloud at the sight, and the stars in his staff swirled. As they swirled I was carried away. His voice was the voice of stars and trees, rivers and oceans, The gentlest drop of dew from the petal of a "sweet william " early on a summers morn. A sound riding on the power of the universe. Gentle, kind, and yet power beyond imagination. "come with me, if you will" and I followed freely. Into the dark shadow of tree covered lanes, and the coolness of the shade. After a time we came upon a pool where he stopped and gently took a leaf and tilted it into his mouth. As I watched, struck by utter amazement, he smiled, handed me his leaf and said "drink" and so I did. This water pure and crystalline, lightly sweet, and energizing in a way I had never known. We walked for hours, or days, maybe months, I do not know. This leader passed through time as though he had never been bound in any way. With him I was able to cross the spaces in equal manner. I saw things I had never noticed before, and watched as trees, and mountain moved before him as though their respect was limitless, and because I was in his company the same respect was extended to me. I wondered aloud from time to time about something curious, and his answers were always simple, and gently spoken. Though I felt the power within his speech, I could tell it was reserved, and all I received was the care which one might extend to a curious child. There was only one time when I felt more, and it was when he spoke of her. He was leading me and fear was something I had no need of, He said it was she and her heart that had bid him come to me. It was she and her heart that sent him to meet me there at the edge of the woods.
He revealed a small bit, but enough to send me reeling, though he was prepared. We had traveled across more than one world. We had passed through time, and passed lives by. More than I would have realized, or could have borne had I not been safe in his presence, and he asked me one favor. Could I maintain my trust? Our journey required it to be so. My answer echoed through time.... How could I not. So far I had followed. I would continue on. His smile grew as if space and time were distorting, and a glow saturated everything with peaceful energy, and he said Then you will meet the one you seek. I will deliver you safely. Then just as quickly he became somber and warning, but the is danger along the path. Your heart must be true, or you will never make it, and there will be nothing I can do..... Now rest, we are safe enough, and tomorrow we begin again.... and this I tell you all will be new for you. I see you carry power, and that is good, for only White Gold will do. Let us hope you are its' Master, and that it does not Master You.

  • @Bels_Kaylar - thank you my friend. I actually do write more than just prose and small pieces of poetry :)

  • This was very other worldly. Reminded me of Moses's travels with Khidhr (in Holy Quran). Now I will go read the second part.
I am glad you didn't make it too long. Powerful posts like these have to be short so that the essence is never lost.
